Structural Mechanisms and Therapeutic Solutions of the SARS-CoV2 Frameshifting Element

The Severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV2) has caused the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) worldwide pandemic. Despite relative success of various vaccines developed, emerging variants such as delta and omicron strains present need to find a more effective therapeutic solution. One target is frameshifting element, which responsible for controlling balance between proteins necessary both defending against host’s immune responses reproduction retrovirus. As it one most highly conserved sequences in all SARS-CoV2, purpose this review article summarize what known about structural functional mechanisms current advancements towards developing solutions attractive target.
